All kinds of robotics are being introduced into healthcare, ranging from apps on mobile phones to telemedicine devices to environmental controls to humanoid robots to help in daily activities.

With the development of new kinds of robotics such as soft robotics a new world is developing. In elderly care, robotics are being tested and improved and it is expected that many of these will be applicable for those with neuromuscular disorders. The development of exoskeletons is especially interesting for daily tasks however currently, most of these are not available commercially.
